Planting Seeds of Growth in Our Preschool Program
At Forest Hills Presbyterian Learning Center, our Preschool program provides the perfect balance of purposeful learning, joyful discovery, and faith-based growth. As a trusted Tampa preschool, we create an engaging environment where three-year-olds build confidence, form friendships, and develop the academic and social skills that prepare them for VPK and beyond.
At this stage, children are curious, imaginative, and eager to learn. Through hands-on experiences and meaningful play, we encourage them to ask questions, solve problems, and take pride in their accomplishments.
Building a Love for Learning
Our preschool students are introduced to early academic concepts in ways that are exciting, developmentally appropriate, and interactive. Daily experiences include:
- Early literacy and pre-writing activities
- Foundational math and science exploration
- Creative arts and music
- Movement and hands-on discovery
- Social learning through cooperative play
These opportunities help children develop independence, strengthen communication skills, and gain confidence as learners.
Purposeful Learning Through The Creative Curriculum®
We use The Creative Curriculum®, which includes 38 objectives for development and learning and aligns with Hillsborough County School Readiness goals. This research-based approach allows us to plan intentional activities that support each child’s growth across all developmental areas.
Our key learning goals for this stage include:
- Reading readiness and early writing skills
- Social and emotional development
- Mathematics and science concepts
- Social studies and awareness of the world
- Physical development and coordination
Parent conferences in November and April provide time to celebrate progress, set goals, and partner together in each child’s educational journey.
Faith-Based Character Development
In our faith-based early learning program in Tampa, children experience daily opportunities to grow in kindness, patience, and respect for others. Through Bible stories, songs, and prayer, we nurture character while helping children understand how faith connects to their everyday actions and relationships.
This foundation supports not only academic success, but also the development of strong values and positive social skills.
Preparing for VPK and Beyond
